Never-Ending Fascination with Antique and Vintage Jewellery

5:42 AM

Ever since I was a young girl, I noticed that I was fascinated with anything vintage. For some reason, I was drawn to things related to the past. This fascination extended to antique and vintage jewellery or at least stylings of it.

When I requested my mother to buy me these pieces bearing the most popular vintage cameo design of a woman's profile when I was only 12, she actually did a double-take, obviously wondering what came over me. "Such old-fashioned taste for a young girl", she said. In time, she realized it was just my personal taste and she let me be. Accessories like these had repeatedly made any outfit I wear classier while creating a fashion statement that is me.

The Real Thing

Imagine my excitement upon finding the Berganza antique jewellery site. The selections offered were enough to make an old soul like me drool. These are fine vintage jewellery handcrafted by skilled craftsmen during a time when mass production was unknown. No two pieces are the same. Each is considered a rarity, clearly explaining why they are seen as sound investments.

From Roman, Byzantine and Georgian to Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco to the retro fashions of the 1940s and 1950s, each period comes alive through the jewellery pieces. My father used to tell me to take note of the reputation of the seller especially when buying something involving a considerable amount of money. It is a must that a jewellery company knows its business so that it can help its customers make informed purchases.

My Say

I have another old soul in my 12 year-old daughter. She is showing the same inclinations that I have when it comes to her fashion sense and home furnishing choices.

That said, I hope I can purchase vintage jewellery which will be the heirloom piece we can pass on from generation to generation.
